Au gr\u00e9 des \u00e9volutions du spectActeur \u00e0 l&rsquo;int\u00e9rieur de ce parc pas naturel, des fragments du r\u00e8gne animal et humain entrent en hybridation. Mais qui est dans la cage ?\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pr\u00e9sentation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A travers un dispositif multim\u00e9dia (3D interactive), plong\u00e9 dans un monde virtuel, le spectActeur est invit\u00e9 \u00e0 parcourir un parc pas naturel. Il ne s&rsquo;agit pas d&rsquo;un zoo ordinaire, plut\u00f4t d&rsquo;un parc hybride zoo-homo-technologique. Tout y est familier. ZOO tient du jeu vid\u00e9o o\u00f9 \u00ab\u00a0je\u00a0\u00bb manipule son avatar, \u00e0 moins que ce ne soit l&rsquo;inverse : \u00ab\u00a0je\u00a0\u00bb captif de ses repr\u00e9sentations. C&rsquo;est un zoo, on y rencontre de l&rsquo;animal, pas \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9tat naturel, des animaux captifs, mais encore vivants quand m\u00eame. Il y a de l&rsquo;humain aussi. Chacun se prom\u00e8ne au gr\u00e9 des images et des sons. Un homo sapiens sapiens qui se divertit et se d\u00e9multiplie \u00e0 travers attractions et repr\u00e9sentations. A la sortie de ZOO, le visiteur peut trouver sur des pr\u00e9sentoirs des produits d\u00e9riv\u00e9s de l&rsquo;installation ( cartes postales, CD Rom etc.). Mais ils ne sont pas \u00e0 vendre. Chacun repart avec un fragment de l&rsquo;installation pour que celle-ci ne reste pas captive de son lieu d&rsquo;exposition.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Zoo cr\u00e9e de l&rsquo;\u00e9trange<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ce parc pas naturel brise les conventions du divertissement. C&rsquo;est lui qui s&rsquo;\u00e9clate et se divertit\u00a0: l&rsquo;animal, l&rsquo;humainal et le technal se croisent et se fondent. L&rsquo;\u00e9cran est certes au centre de la pi\u00e8ce, il demeure la porte d&rsquo;entr\u00e9e du \u00ab\u00a0parc\u00a0\u00bb, mais il est de taille modeste. A l&rsquo;inverse, le son est mat\u00e9riellement tr\u00e8s pr\u00e9sent : quatre baffles d\u00e9finissent l&rsquo;espace de l&rsquo;installation. Ce qui est \u00ab\u00a0\u00e0 voir\u00a0\u00bb dans le parc virtuel se donne de mani\u00e8re minimale mais complexe. Les lignes, les volumes, les couleurs construisent dans leurs enchev\u00eatrements une connectique aux multiples ramifications. Les photos de la famille Untel au zoo deviennent \u00e0 travers le jeu des reflets, des transparences et des mouvements du spectacteur une vid\u00e9o de moirures. Les cris des animaux, les \u00e9clats de voix des hommes et les traitements num\u00e9riques du son se m\u00ealent, et fusionnent pour former un univers sonore hybride \u00ab\u00a0zoo-homo-technologique\u00a0\u00bb. Le spectacteur est invit\u00e9 \u00e0 la d\u00e9danse. Dans cette Zooth\u00e8que, il ne s&rsquo;agit pas de bouger sur des sons vocaux ou \u00e9lectroniques, mais de se mettre en mouvement pour faire \u00e9voluer un univers sonore. As the spectactor moves inside this non-nature reserve, bits of the animal and human kingdom come to hybridize. By the way, who is in the cage ?\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pr\u00e9sentation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Using a multimedia device (3D interactive), the spectactor plunges into a virtual word. He is free to travel the length and breadth of a non-nature reserve. It \u2018s not an ordinary zoo, much more a zoo-anthropo-technological hybrid reserve. All is familiar. ZOO is a kind of video game. In which one \u201cI\u201d handle his avatar. Perhaps it\u2019s the opposite : \u201cI\u201d as a captive of his own representations. It\u2019s a zoo, one can meet some animals, not in their wild state, captive animals, alive in spite of. There are humans too. Each visitor goes for a stroll around according to pictures and sounds. This Homo sapiens sapiens enjoys himself and increases through attractions and representations. When the visitors comes out the installation, he finds on displays the ZOO\u2019s goodies (postcards, CD rom etc). All free. Each one departs with an installation\u2019s bit for ZOO not to stay captive of the exhibition.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Zoo creates bizarre<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This non-nature reserve breaks the entertainment\u2019s conventions. The ZOO is amusing and enjoying itself : animal, humainal, technal are meeting and melting. The screen is in the center ot the exhibition\u2019s room. It is the front door of the reserve. Nevertheless it\u2019s not a big one. On the other hand, sound is physically very present : four speakers define the installation\u2019s room. What is shown in the virtual park is minimal but complex. Lines, shapes, colours construct in their entanglements a kind of wiring with a multitude of ramifications. Pictures of the so-and-so\u2019s family in the zoo become a video of shimmering ripples through some effects of reflection and transparency as the spectactor is moving. Animal\u2019s noises, human\u2019s voices and the sound processing are mixing together and merging to constitute an hybrid \u201czoo-homo-technological\u201d soundtrack. The spectactor is invited for an undance. In this \u201czoo club\u201d, you don\u2019t have to move according to a vocal or electronic music, you can move for the music to change. Because of the spectactor\u2019s trip a new composition is created.<\/p>\n<p>The point of the installation is to question the connexions between leisure society ( and of course first of all gaming ) and freedom(s).
